Bioidentical Hormone replacement and uterine cancer

Recently saw a patient in her early 50’s, surgically menopausal after hysterectomy for uterine cancer cured by surgery alone, no radiation.  Pt is suffering with hot flashes, night sweats and told bioidentical hormone therapy is contraindicated due to her uterine cancer.  Every case is unique; however, as long as the uterine cancer was early stage and no spread through uterine wall or to adjacent organs, hormone replacement is reasonable option for symptoms of menopause.
