Metabolism is the speed at which your body works; some are blessed with a rapid metabolism while others claim that they gain weight simply by “looking at food”.
Genetics can play a role; hypothyroidism or low thyroid can run in families. A simple blood test can determine this and correct an underactive thyroid.
