Many patients have no idea that they can go to a discount lab and order their own bloodwork; as long as you know that you CAN order your own labs and you DON’T even need to put a diagnosis code onto the lab requisition slip. As long as you, the patient, are willing to pay for your labs as a cash price, then you can order whatever labs you want. Remember, you can ask the prices ahead of time when you pay cash so there is total transparency in cost whereas labs ordered by your healthcare provider are usually not transparent in cost and you many times get surprised by the bill. And in case you are wondering, you can always submit the cost of your labs to your insurance company and have it go toward your deductible; many insurance companies will allow this but some do not, especially if there are no diagnosis codes listed so check with your insurance company before you make any assumptions that may put a dent in your pocketbook that you don’t want.
Hello, I stumbled on your blog and I like this post in particular. You give some thought-provoking arguments. Where can I learn more?
You write better info than I can find anywhere else. Please could you share your sourceexperience with your readers?
